Do Something is a philosophy that comes from our mission statement, Seeking the Welfare of the City, which means seeking the peace and prosperity of the places you are planted. Whether it's your home, or the neighborhood you live, the places you work, or where you go to school – you are called by God to live an active faith. We are tasked by Jesus to go and make disciples of all nations. That is why we want everyone at Harris Creek actively involved in ministry. More simply stated, we wanted everyone in our church to Do Something. This can be as simple as serving in a volunteer role at our church, or serving at a place like Mission Waco. This means getting involved in a Life Group. This means being a regular attender of worship. This means using your resources for the Kingdom. We are all called to live active lives in pursuit of Jesus.
To be clear – we don't want people just doing more things to check off more boxes. We want people to always be moving forward in their relationship with Jesus and that can look a number of different ways, but we believe if you're doing some of these things – that will happen. What we want happening is a constant evaluation of what you're doing to further that relationship and grow and mature as a believer. If you've been involved in Life Group for 5 years, but aren't serving – maybe it's time to sign up to serve. If you've been a believer for a while now but are stuck in your faith, maybe you should attend Alpha. Or maybe, you've attended Harris Creek for years now and have never gone through the membership process – maybe now is the time! Whatever that next step may be for you, we want to help you to move forward and closer to Jesus through that.
If you're not sure how to get connected with Harris Creek or what to do next, feel free to reach out using the form below and one of our staff members would love to meet with you!
