Haiti Preparation Meeting

This meeting is for our students who have committed to attend our Spring Break trip to Haiti with Living Water International. The preparation for any mission trip to a different culture takes time on the front end. In our meeting, we will discuss issues like what we will be doing on the trip and how to conduct ourselves properly while in Haiti. The Haiti Preparation Meeting will take place Sunday, February 11, at 12:30p at the Downtown Campus offices (717 Franklin Avenue). Contact Nate Hilgenkamp for more information.

Mountaintop

Throughout the Bible, the mountaintop was a place where people met with and heard from God; we want students to encounter God in that same way at Mountaintop each week. Mountaintop is our Sunday night weekly youth gathering designed around an engaging atmosphere, a compelling time of worship and teaching, and a space for in-depth discussion in youth Life Groups (grades 7-12). We meet Sunday nights in the sanctuary at Sunwest Campus from 6-8p. Contact Kathy Davidson for more information.

Ash Wednesday Services

Ash Wednesday is a chance for the universal Church to celebrate the beginning of the Lenten season, which leads us to the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ on Easter. This year, we have two different service options: 6:30-8a at the Downtown Campus and 6-7:30p at the Sunwest Campus. These services are come-and-go.

Investigate JUNIOR (Downtown Campus)

Investigate JUNIOR is a program for parents and elementary-age kids, grades 1-4, who are exploring faith or have recently accepted Christ. This class clearly presents the gospel. During these classes, kids will be exposed to the foundations of our faith and will tackle questions such as, "Why can't I see or hear God?," What is sin?," and "Why is baptism important?" Investigate JUNIOR is a two-week class that will take place Sundays, February 18 and 25, at 11a at our Downtown Campus offices (717 Franklin Avenue). Contact Storey Cook with any questions.

Mountaintop Life Group Night

Because we believe that life change happens best in the context of community, we set apart one night a month for Mountaintop Life Group Night. This means that instead of meeting for large group Mountaintop, students (grades 7-12) will meet with their Life Group for the entire evening (6-8p). High School Life Groups will meet in host homes, and Middle School Life Groups will meet at Sunwest Campus. Contact Kathy Davidson for more information.

Our spring retreat is a chance for students to get outside the "Waco Bubble" and focus on growing their relationships with God and each other, with a special emphasis on worshiping together as a Youth Ministry. The Youth Spring Retreat will be held Friday through Sunday, March 2-4, at the Latham Springs Conference Center. We will leave Friday evening around 5:30p and return Sunday morning around 11a.
