Harris Creek desires for adults (i.e., college-age, young professionals, and other adults) to continue growing into spiritual maturity, and as a church devoted to the discipleship of the next generation, we seek to provide opportunities for adults specifically interested in the ministry of a pastor. A Harris Creek Pastoral Intern will work hand in hand with the Community Pastor to gain experience with general pastoral care, church administration, adult discipleship and spiritual direction, and small group ministry. This internship will seek to develop and grow you as an individual and as a minister. As a Harris Creek Pastoral Intern, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn from and work directly with the Community Pastor
  • Develop knowledge and experience in approaches to discipleship and the shepherding tasks of pastoral leadership
  • Gain exposure to any specific part of pastoral ministry that excites you (e.g., hospitality and member care, communication skills and strategies, ministry planning and budgeting, volunteer recruitment and leader development, etc.)
  • Plan and execute well-purposed opportunities that further enhance your experience in pastoral ministry (e.g., Connections, meetings, workshops, corporate events including Sunday worship services, etc.)
