The More Than Roommates podcast hits that issue straight on by preparing couples to do just that, be more than roommates. So, when they get to their empty nest years, they are ready to flourish. “Hi, my name is Andrew and I have a new life in Christ I am in recovery from fear, control, and perception management. Before I started Regen, I was afraid to be honest. I was afraid I would be rejected. So I had to control the narrative. Because of that fear I constantly tried to manage how people perceived me. I was always trying to put my best foot forward in any situation to be accepted and not rejected. And In the area of “control” it really came down to just me not trusting God with my life. No matter what issue surfaced  “I’m good” and “I got this” were my most common responses. I KNEW what I needed for my own life. So, flip the page. I can’t tell you how grateful I am through what I’ve learned this year. I now have a deeper security in knowing who I am in Jesus. I’m free to be honest in how I’m REALLY doing AND in my need for HELP from others. I’m learning to trust the Lord more with how HE sees me and not be so consumed with how others perceive me. I’m also so aware of his patience with me, which in turn helps me to be patient with others. I also can tell that I have a greater appreciation when I think of what Jesus did for all of us on the cross. I think I would encourage all of us to find the courage to say NO to your fears. Yes, it’s difficult. It feels like jumping off a cliff. But, I promise, He WILL catch you. And in the hardest times, when you’re hanging on by a thread and you feel all alone He will pick you up. He’ll dry your tears and He’ll carry you like He did with me.” - Andrew O.

“The past year of doing Regeneration has been one of the best decisions of my life. Before Regeneration, I carried around unprocessed emotions, held tight to bitterness, and was so fearful of man. “The Senior Ministry has given me an avenue for meeting new friends! I’ve met people who are in other Life Groups, attend different Sunday services, and are in other serving areas, so I would not cross their paths without this ministry. I’ve enjoyed the different activities and venues for mingling with others-ladies’ lunch, game day, meeting at the coffee shop, more formal gatherings like the holiday party, dinners for 8, and corn hole tournament at the park! It’s been a nice variety! The main reason I’ve been thankful for the Senior Ministry has been the friendships I’ve made! I like the separate ladies’ activities, but also have enjoyed getting to know some of the men! I wish single men would be braver and would show up for the fun!
