staff SPOTLIGHT

ETHAN SCHMITT | SOCIAL MEDIA & DESIGN

My name is Ethan Schmitt. I do graphic design and manage the social media at Harris Creek. I was born and raised in northern New Jersey and spent my 25 years of life there until moving to Waco this April. Apart from graphic design, my passions involve spending time with family, watching/playing sports, and listening to music (the amazing worship here makes this easy!). This past January, I decided to fast from social media while asking God to open doors for new work opportunities. Through surrendering a main distraction and substituting the time I had spent on my phone, now with Him, I learned so much, not only about myself, but about God. He then quickly blessed me with the opportunity to use social media as a tool to spread His Word and glorify Him at Harris Creek, and what a joy it has been already!

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." (Proverbs 3:5-6)
