A Local Church
devoted to the gospel

our mission

Harris Creek’s origins date back to 1872, when the first plot of land was gifted a few miles from where our current building stands. A group of men and women wanted to build a church where they could follow Christ in community with other believers.

Today, we carry on that same legacy. We do this through weekly worship, media and ministry resources, and the intentional fostering of Christian community through events and life groups.

Our mission is to help everyone follow Jesus by engaging the lost, equipping the saints, and empowering members for service.

Have Questions?

When deciding where you want to grow in your faith alongside other believers, it’s always good to ask questions. Feel free to reach out any time at hello@harriscreek.org and someone on our staff will get back to you.

Breaking Down our mission

  • Engaging the lost means intentionally pursuing people who don’t know the hope of Jesus. We base this on the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19), where Jesus calls us to go and make disciples of all nations. We want our lives to reflect the grace and hope of Jesus through daily interactions and relationships we build with the people in our homes, neighborhoods, schools, workplaces, and communities.

  • The church is a place for believers in Jesus to grow in the knowledge and practice of their faith (Ephesians 4:12). Whether it is through Life Groups, Bible studies, workshops, or Sunday morning services, we hope to provide opportunities and encouragement for followers of Christ to deepen their devotion and affection for Him.

  • Empowering members for service means we believe every follower of Jesus has unique gifts, skills, and abilities that should be used to help the people around them follow Jesus (Romans 12:6-8). For some, it may be serving with our kids, directing traffic, or playing an instrument. For others, it may be serving organizations throughout our community. Whatever your gifts are we want to deploy you to use them for the kingdom.

Breaking down Our core Values

  • We believe authenticity, integrity, transparency, and sincerity should mark those whose confidence is in Jesus.

“The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.” – 1 Timothy 1:5

  • We believe God's Word is our authority, conscience, and guide in everything we do. We stand firm where it stands firm and remain flexible where it is flexible.

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.” – 2 Timothy 3:16

  • We believe that God designed us for community. Being a member at Harris Creek requires a commitment to being intentionally involved with others in accountable, encouraging Life Groups.

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” – Hebrews 10:24-25

  • Full devotion to Jesus is normal for every believer. As Christians, we are called to implement our faith into every aspect of our lives.

"Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” – Romans 12:1-2

  • We believe we have benefited from the kind intention of God’s will in the form of grace; therefore, we eagerly extend it to others. “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.” – Ephesians 2:8-9

  • We believe the Bible challenges us to bring the Gospel "into all the world" in order to make His name known. For this reason, we hold firm to the message but are willing to adapt the method. This requires careful scrutiny of everything we do – new practices and old – so that we are most effective at spreading the name of Jesus.

“To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some." – 1 Corinthians 9:22

  • We believe that everyone matters to God; therefore, they matter to us. Jesus came to seek and to save the lost, and He has left us here, in part, to do the same. Our individual lives and corporate efforts will reflect this conviction.

“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” – Luke 19:10

  • We believe prayer is essential to everything we do.

"Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” – Colossians 4:2
